How to Dispose of Vapes with Lithium Batteries
Disposing of disposable vapes properly is important to protect the environment and stay safe. Here’s how to do it:
Don’t Throw in the Trash: Never throw your disposable vape with a lithium battery in the regular trash. Lithium batteries can be harmful if not disposed of correctly.
Remove the Battery (If Possible): If you're able to safely remove the battery from the vape, do so. Some vapes allow you to easily separate the battery from the rest of the device. DO NOT attempt to remove the battery is the device doesn’t allow you to easily separate the battery.
Find a Battery Recycling Center: The best way to dispose of the lithium battery is by taking it to a local battery recycling center. Many stores, such as electronics retailers, have drop-off boxes for used batteries.
Check for E-Waste Recycling: If you can't remove the battery, check with your local e-waste recycling facility. They can take care of both the vape device and the battery.
How to Care for Your Vape
Don’t Overcharge: Avoid leaving your vape plugged in once it’s fully charged. Overcharging can shorten the lifespan of your battery. Unplug when it’s at 100%.
Store in a Cool, Dry Place: Keep your vape away from extreme heat or cold, as temperature fluctuations can damage the battery and affect the vape’s performance. A cool, dry spot is ideal.
Don’t Drop It: Vapes are delicate, and dropping them can damage internal components. Always handle with care and avoid dropping or knocking it against hard surfaces.
Clean Regularly: Clean your vape’s mouthpiece and connections regularly to prevent buildup of residue or e-liquid. This helps maintain smooth airflow and better performance.
Use the Right Charger: Always use the charger that came with your vape, or one that’s recommended by the manufacturer. Using cheap, off-brand chargers can damage your battery.
Avoid Extreme Battery Drain: Don’t let your vape battery completely die too often. Charging when it’s around 20-30% helps preserve battery life over time.
Don’t Block Airflow: Keep the airflow vents clear of any debris to ensure smooth hits. Blocked airflow can lead to poor performance and make it harder to draw.
